BYU Graduate Seminars - Fall 2012
Graduate Seminar Schedule
Graduate seminars are held every week on Thursday at 4 PM Mountain Time. Seminars consist of industrial topics and academic research in chemical engineering and related disciplines. The seminar speakers include professors, graduate students, industrial collaborators, and other guests. A schedule of the seminars is provided below with a link to register for remote participants.
Topic | Date | Time | Presenter | Description | Safety Moment
Mass Transport and Reaction in Microstructured Gas/Liquid Reactors | August 30, 2012 | 4 PM | Kristin Hecht | Gas/liquid reactions are important to many biological and industrial processes. Microstructured gas/liquid reactors offer excellent heat transport properties, interfacial areas orders of magnitude larger than conventional devices, and can potentially be operated over a wider range of liquid holdups.Values of the interfacial area and mass transport coefficients can be extracted from experiments of chemical reaction. | Bradley Nielson
