05/2015-Present: Cost Estimation Engineer, Offshore--Intern, ExxonMobil Development Company, Houston TX

05/2014-08/2014: Process Engineering Intern, Trailhead Engineering, Salt Lake City (Full-time)

  • Spec’d $200,000 worth of equipment (pumps, pipes, valves, etc) in two new LNG plants
  • Developed and implemented more efficient project document numbering system, decreasing time to locate documents by engineers by 25%
  • Received invitation to continue to work remotely on business development projects

08/2013-12/2014: President, Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), BYU Chapter

  • More than tripled student membership from 40 to 140, launched website byuspe.com
    • Spearheaded initiative to increase interest in petroleum and activity
  • Developed relationships and gained sponsorship with 3 new companies (50% increase)
  • Doubled number of officers directing activities; trained new executive council

04/2014-08/2014: Team Captain, BYU SPE PetroBowl Team

  • Led 5-member BYU team to 4th place of 71 teams, international PetroBowl qualifier competition
  • Coached / instructed team weekly on petroleum engineering, especially reservoir engineering
  • Personally raised $5,600 in funding by networking with companies
  • Led team at international PetroBowl tournament, Oct 2014 at the SPE ATCE in Amsterdam
    • Fast-paced, trivia-style competition testing petroleum engineering knowledge where 5-membered teams of university students from across the world compete head-to-head

  • Penned over 20 statements used in governing company literature--safety slogans, mission statement, offerings literature, etc for website and pamphlets while consulting CEO, COO

  • Elected by 300+ peers, University of Texas at Austin
